Women in Cleantech (Networking Hike)

Back by popular demand!  Get off your Zoom call and outside the conference room to join Women in Cleantech & Sustainability (WCS) on Saturday, June 28, 9am - 11am for a hike and community building.

This event will begin with a hike led by WCS volunteers through one of Los Angeles' most beautiful spaces within Griffith Park, the Firebreak Trail to Griffith Observatory. We will meet at the trailhead across from the trails cafe.

Bonus! We will hear from a speaker from the Los Angeles Neighborhood Land Trust, who addresses environmental inequities in Los Angeles by creating accessible parks and community gardens in communities of color that have little to no access to green space.

Please bring your own reusable water bottle to prevent additional waste. Along the way, participants will have the chance to connect with fellow sustainability professionals, share experiences, and learn about the latest trends and challenges in the industry.

Earth Day Restore & Renew with FoLAR (new date)

Join Friends of LA River for our 2025 Earth Day Habitat Restore & Renew

At Earth Day Habitat Restore & Renew, 400-500 dedicated volunteers will join us to remove 15,000+ gallons of invasive vegetation, restoring 1 acre of land at the Reserve.

Volunteers will then participate in educational activities like a nature walk, making native seed balls, hopping aboard our River Rover mobile museum, and exploring informational tables from community partners. Earth Day Habitat Restore & Renew is free and open to the public and will foster both immediate and long-term health in the LA River Watershed.

​Join us for a community seed swap and dialogue focused on the role of heirloom seeds and their importance in preserving biodiversity, history, and food sovereignty. 

​Participants will learn about a variety of heirloom seeds, discuss their unique cultural ties, and enjoy dishes based on these varieties. 

​Special Guest Speaker - Perren Carrillo (they/them) is the steward of Motherland, an ecological garden cultivating heritage foods from seed in their mother's front yard in Mid-City.

​In partnership with Recycle2Riches, Hexi, and incredible sustainable brands, we’re providing relief kits and resources to families affected by the recent fires in Los Angeles. Volunteers like you are essential in creating a warm, welcoming space where those in need can find support and comfort.

​As a volunteer, you’ll:

Volunteer @ Fire Relief Friday

​We’re calling on our community to come together and make a difference!

Starting February 7th, we’ll be hosting Fire Relief Fridays every Friday in February at Hexi Market & Coffee (5209 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90036) from 10 AM to 5 PM—and we need your help.

​In partnership with Recycle2Riches, Hexi, and incredible sustainable brands, we’re providing relief kits and resources to families affected by the recent fires in Los Angeles. Volunteers like you are essential in creating a warm, welcoming space where those in need can find support and comfort.

​As a volunteer, you’ll:
🤝 Help distribute relief kits filled with sustainable essentials.
☕ Assist with providing coffee, water, and snacks to guests.
✨ Create a supportive environment for those seeking a moment of rest.

​Your time and effort will directly impact individuals and families recovering from devastating losses. Together, we can rebuild hope, one act of kindness at a time.
